Surely the YikeBike will make you fat!

Well no more than an automatic washing machine... Did you know that if you had to hand wash your clothes for an average family it is the equivalent of running a half marathon each week? History is full of products that take away the drudgery of life giving you more free time to do as you please. The YikeBike is the same – it frees you up to rapidly move around congested cities in an efficient, environmentally friendly way. Hopefully you can use the extra time in your life to run and play with your kids, take a walk with a friend or get adventurous with your loved one.... Sure if you use this extra spare time to sit on the couch eating chips your belly will bloat but most people are not that stupid.

I'm sure the folks that say a YikeBike is for lazy people don't use elevators, have pedal assist cars, pump water from a well, chop their own fire wood (no chain saw!), knead their own bread etc. If they don't then their argument is completely and utterly arbitrary. Lets pick on the latest innovation and forget about all the others because.......um.......they have been around a bit longer? Lets also ban chocolate too because some people eat too much....compelling logic?

The first versions of the YikeBike did have pedals only but we could make them smaller lighter and safer by going all electric. Hopefully there will be a pedal assist version at some stage but it would likely be heavier and larger. Check out www.minifarthing.com for other related ideas.

I got amazed, how simple and well design it is.
Would we have it in Spain soon?

Hope to have it in Portugal soon ;-)

It's very pretty, but it's a shame it's designed only for women.

All the men I know weigh 100kg or more naked...

It is really fantastic.

Hey Grant

LOVE IT!!!!

Great stuff

Tim

What a great product!!!
I wish you the best of success!!

People say the innovation is dead? It was just sleeping, till the yike bike came along. Its a real eye opener. To all the fine people of yike bike..Outstanding work!

Great! Congratulations!!! I adore Yike Bike.
When do you plan to sell in Turkey?

Just wanted to say - what an awesome product and I hope it takes off for you (saw it in Springwise). Ticks all the boxes and looks good too.

Costs are still on the high side for most average users, but it's still a much needed product in our current society/environment so it can only go up from here.

Keep up the great work!

please make it an hybrid version of the same machine.
the autonomy is ridiculous even if i can agree with the whole initial design.

But giving an opportunity to the rider, to give few extra kicks,
in order to give a more ful freedom of usage of the machine will give another dimension to the transportation system.

it is almost perfect.
and the hybrid between electric propulsion and human powered at will, will upgrade to a city perfect solution:
to extend to the worth autonomy and therefore give full freedom to the biker.

Even light at it could, i hate to carry my vehicule after it just carry me just 10 km max.

otherwise congratulation, but you can already work on the next generation. :)

The YikeBike started as a pedal only product but we went electric to make it smaller lighter and simpler. See www.minifarthing.com for the future ideas for different versions
