Where our blog name came from

So why pick the title “lick my battery” for the YikeBike blog? Well we took the phrase from a “Flight of the Concords” song and love the cheeky irreverence of it. We want to set the tone for what to expect from further postings. We take our product very seriously but don’t take ourselves too seriously.

What we are attempting to do with the YikeBike will be quite challenging to a number of groups. For those of you that love what we do that’s great and for the folks that don’t they can “lick my battery” so to speak.

Just in case you come from a country with litigious tendencies please do not take the phrase “lick my battery” literally – it would be bad.

Check out the end of the song for the lick my battery phrase

Bret and Jermaine – as a way of saying thanks for using your cool phrase we are happy to give you a YikeBike that you can arm wrestle over (good luck with that Bret....).

I have about a 30 degree driveway, would a YikeBike make it? Because this is the only thing holding me back.

Thanks!

It can get up about 11 degrees - the worlds steepest street is only 19 degrees so sounds like a serious driveway!

Lol, it is pretty steep. I'm ordering one anyway because I could always carry it up since it only weighs 22 lbs.

Has anyone managed to ride with the back wheel off the ground yet? If you've checked Danny Macaskill out on You Tube I'm sure you'd agree it's possible, but how difficult would it be?

Not really design for this but boys being boys we have tried riding with the back wheel off the ground. If you lean forward and pull the brake hard you can make the back wheel lift off the ground and go along for a little bit.

yike it's a amazing bike

Having been priviliged enough to experience riding one of these superb bikes, I would have to say that i had one issue. I couldn't get the silly grin off my face, neither could anyone else who rode it, who needs chemical joy?

These would have to be the most fun you can have, sitting down with your hands by your sides and your clothes on!

I would bet that one will appear in the Smithsonian before long, they are an absolute work of art.
